Mark your fashion calendars! On May 22, Gingerbread Clothing will be showcasing our fabulous new line at the Urban Couture Fashion Show. This all Bay Area event is not to be missed!! I am beyond excited to be featured in this show, as the projected attendance is over 1,000. Come out to be a part of this local event in Oakland's Jack London Square at the old Barnes & Noble building from 7pm-11pm. Admission is $10. Here is a sneak peak at some of the new designs I will be featuring!

Couture Boudoir...Me Amore!

Looking around my house, it is instantly apparent that I love photographs. There is nothing more calming than being surrounded by beautiful pictures of people and places you hold dear to your heart. Photographs have the ability to capture such intense emotion in a single frame. I always keep my eyes peeled for photographers that have a funky or different approach as I am always needing great photographers for photo shoots and events for Gingerbread Clothing. However, when I ran across these photographs taken by Jennifer Skog I let out a shriek of excitement (yes, a very high-pitched squeak was heard throughout the studio). Incredible does not even come close to describing her work. These boudoir photographs take my breath away! I am booking a Couture Boudoir photo shoot with Jennifer for myself immediately!! This will make the most fabulous gift for myself...and I am sure my husband will love it even more!!

Ruffles Gone Wild

Ruffles, ruffles everywhere! I have noticed lately that I am drawn to anything with ruffles! So when I spotted this Karen Walker dress I knew it had to find its' way to my closet...and pronto! There is something about ruffles that bring to mind the innocence of bliss-filled childhood days when worries were none and pure joy was abundant. Even though I am an official "grown-up" I still feel like a child inside and make sure everyday to remember to take joy in each moment...just like I did as a child! Somehow, ruffles make that even easier!

Get Your Green On

I am always on the look-out for inspiration. I ran across these photos from one of my favorite blogs, little brown pen. With the weather getting warmer and the sun shining, I was instantly drawn to the beauty and vibrancy of the green images. It reminds me of life and the joy everyday brings. It is also a reminder for everyone to do their part to help preserve our beautiful planet! I definitely am going to be using this green in some up-coming designs!

Photo shoots have always been one of my great escapes in the fashion design world. I love the whole process. Seeing the story I created in my head come to life in front of the camera is exhilarating! Bauble Me Beautiful

One word...OBSESSED!! One look at this gorgeous Kate Spade Multiple Bauble Necklace and it is easy to see why! Sometimes I just feel like wearing a plain, simple t-shirt out on the town. This necklace makes it possible! All I need to do is throw on a rockin' pair of jeans, my favorite white t-shirt, fabulous shoes and this beyond fabulous necklace and I am ready to have a night out in the city!

A Baker's Best Friend

Well…it is almost that time. My favorite day of the year, Mother’s Day! I can’t believe that I have been a mother to my beautiful daughter Chanel for 9 years now! Everyday is such a blessing and I can’t imagine my life without my amazing daughter! Mother’s Day holds a special place in my heart as it is a day Chanel and I always spend together, from sun up to sun down. This year is even more special as my mother is flying in from Hawaii to be with us! This year, I am giving this stylish apron from IceMilk Aprons to my always-baking-something mother (hope she doesn’t read this post before Sunday!). And, because I am starting to get into baking more for my family (I mean what could be better than homemade, warm chocolate chip cookies!!), I am getting this super chic apron for myself as well! I am absolutely in love with the gorgeous bow…maybe there will be some bow inspiration in the Gingerbread line in the near future!
